Amarjeet Singh

Amarjeet Singh, the visionary behind Naad Arts Centre, holds a Masters degree in Music and boasts extensive experience in the realm of Tabla performance. With a rich background in both solo tabla performances and collaborative ventures with prominent Indian and Western musicians and dancers, he has left an indelible mark on international music and dance festivals.

His journey with the tabla commenced under the tutelage of his elder brother, Mr. Deedar Singh, and flourished under the guidance of Guru Shri Thakur Kishan Singh ji of Benaras Gharana.

Recognized for his exceptional contributions, Amarjeet was bestowed the esteemed title of Cultural Ambassador by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, which led him to share his expertise in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Subsequently, he contributed significantly as a staff artist at the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, University of Delhi.

A recipient of multiple accolades, including the prestigious Sangeet Bhushan from the Rajasthan Education Department, the Leadership Circle Award from the Canadian Red Cross, the Heritage Defender Award from Darpan Magazine, and the Innovation in the Arts award from Drishti Magazine, Singh’s dedication to his craft is evident. Notably, in 2023, he was nominated for the esteemed Cultural Ambassador Award by the City of Surrey. Recently in  2024 he was awarded the Civic Distinction award by the City of Surrey, a testament to his enduring impact on the cultural landscape.

Amarjeet is a Tabla Maestro. He is the founder of Naad Arts Centre which was established in 2006. He has a master’s degree in Music – Tabla (Indian classical drums). In the thirty years of his teaching and performing career he has trained and mentored students in India, Germany, USA, Uzbekistan, and Canada. He has accompanied on Tabla a myriad of leading musicians and dancers.

Amarjeet has won various scholarships from the “Music and Drama Academy” of Rajasthan (India). He have also been awarded additional honors, such as: Sangeet Bhushan (music jewel) from the Rajasthan Education Department, Leadership Circle Award by the Canadian Red Cross, Heritage Defender Award by Darpan Magazine, Innovation in the Arts Award by Drishti Magazine, Nominated for the Surrey Mayor’s Arts Award, City of Surrey.

Amarjeet has over 30 years of experience in organizing and managing Musical, Social and Corporate events. Amarjeet has creative experience in films and media apart from understanding the finer nuances of editing and sound production. He is actively involved with Community service and social work. Amarjeet along with Navin Giri host some very popular Conversation and Interview based show’s namely: Champions of Canada & Kyon Ghanti Bajee.
